you learn you're not missing anything meaningful by staying in and enjoying your own little paradise. i'm not a couch potato but I am an unapologetic house potato.
Kitty Karr started out fine and then grew into being one of my favorite books of 2023! I’m curious what you’ll think at the end, it really stayed with me days afterwards and I felt moved.
I think by 28 I was over the jam packed weekend 😅 I do aspire to be a morning person but usually wake up with an alarm around 1015 and go to bed at 1230. Somewhat unusually I make Fridays my chore say to try and ease the Sunday scaries by fully enjoying the day!
This sounds like a perfect weekend.... but I am so admiring that you tackle Wordle before Strands and Connections. I try to get those two in first so I know my brain is whirring when I get to Wordle (Wordle is a BIG deal in my house!).
This sounds like a dreamy weekend! In a nutshell mine is:
Earlybird Friday dinner out and coming home to watch a movie or read a good book cozy in bed.
Saturday: Out and about. If staying in the city, love an East Village moment... a matinee movie at the Angelika followed by lunch at Veselka where I gorge myself on Borscht soup + pierogis! Afterward, maybe I'd wander to a park or cafe to read, bop around some shops, pop into some galleries and find a cocktail somewhere. Love Hard to Explain on Saturday's because they open at 11am and have gorgeous seats (if you can snag them) in front of a wide open window to watch the leaves fall. Maybe end with a quick bite (somewhere like Tasty Dumplings or Banh Mi Saigon in China Town). Go home, relax. If not in the city, I love to spend a day upstate — Kingston, Beacon, etc.
Sunday: Long walk through Central Park with a friend followed by picking up a cup of coffee and pain au chocolat. Clean the house, grocery shop, and dig into meal prepping for the week while I spin a good vinyl. As I wait for things to cook, love to read or if football season, flip on the game with my husband.
Your perfect weekend sounds like it could be my perfect weekend too! I have dinner plans tonight and a football game tomorrow, which should be fun, but honestly, I'm REALLY looking forward to Sunday when I can introvert at home, do some chores, get organized for the week and maybe get in some reading/needlepoint time and a show (with a glass of wine)! : ))

Amen to that. I love being in my house.
What does it say about me that I am 24 and that weekend sounds pretty perfect to me?! Lol!
you're very wise! haha!
A really good book to listen to is The Power of One by Bryce Courtney. The narrator has a really cool South African accent.
ooh thank you for the rec!

That has been my journey so far! It started slowly but now I'm racing through it.
Do you ever play spelling bee? I love doing that in my NY times word game repertoire too 🤌🏻
I do!!!! But it is more of a special occasion game vs. one I do every morning, haha.

oh that is such a good idea!
Me too! I only let myself watch a movie in bed on Friday nights.
Ah I love that! It makes it such a special luxurious treat.

oh that's so funny! I find Wordle to be the easiest one so do that first!
