I just want to say I am thrilled you wrote this and I hope the mean comments about expensive pants are minimal! I have been super curious and appreciate your input!
Thanks so much for sharing! I work in education and I’m always looking for pants that are comfortable and look more professional than a pair of jeans! I think I’ll try the Everlane pair since they fit better in my budget, but I’m so excited!
If I had the budget I would buy them, too! I have the Everlane pants and love them. I wear them to my corporate office which is very formal and don’t feel out of place. They go with a variety of shoes. I’m guessing what they lack is the shaping qualities, they definitely don’t make my butt look any better!
I haven't as I don't own those! I have a feeling (just having seen the Spanx ones!) that the main point of difference will be the center seam and the fabric!
I have had the Spanx pants for a couple of years and LOVE them. I kind thought The High Sport were dupes of them. And they are just like your description of the HS ones. Great option at a lower price point!
I tried the Everlane and while many others love I didn’t like the side zipper (wouldn’t lay flat for me) I really like the Mashburn Faye pants for work. I ordered the Donni to try next but honestly, I see the High Sport in my future. I also love the “newsletter pants” term.
Okay - looks like it is the difference between the dream kick flare pant vs the dream pant. I wanted the kick flare shape which has a zipper...wamp wamp
I have the Everlane Dream Pant and it's a great dupe. Super comfortable yet great for work. Honestly, I thought you were wearing them in the first picture you posted. But there is a part of me that wants to try the High Sport pant!

so far so good -- glad it was helpful!
Oh no have I just been convinced to buy these pants
haha welcome to the dark side ;)
I think these are going to be what I try. Thanks for the post, I’d love to save up for the HS pair! https://shopdonni.com/products/the-rib-kick-flare-jet?variant=40040142831674¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1
report back. i’ve put these in my cart so many times.

so glad!!!!!
I have the everlane dream pants and no one would know that I am basically wearing sweatpants.
I have the slate blue/grey colour that I wear with black loafers and they look like professional slacks
I am curious how these com pare to the ones from Tuckernuck, the Ashford?
I haven't tried the Ashford but maybe someone here has!
Ashford was a no go for me. As are the Mashburn Faye pants. I just got the Donni kick flares- need to be hemmed but flattering and sooo comfortable.

that's so great to know! yeah my hunch is that with the dupes the fabric is the point of difference!!
I was hoping you were going to say that the High Sport pants just weren’t worth it!!!! Thanks for the review.
I am sorry!!! I really love them. But: the J.Crew ones are a worthy alternative3!
Have you compared them to the Spanx perfect pants, especially the kick flare?
I haven't as I don't own those! I have a feeling (just having seen the Spanx ones!) that the main point of difference will be the center seam and the fabric!

ooof that is good to know abut the zipper; I love that these are pull on!
Maybe a different style? My Everlane dream pants don’t have a zipper.

Really 😮 I’m going to research this more.
Thanks for the review, Grace. I’ve been really curious about them and will put them on my ‘it’s time to treat myself’ list. xo
They are special pants!
Quince makes some that are pretty similar for $50. I have some and love them!
ooh thanks for the rec!
The one thing that makes me hesitate is whether they work for short legs. I worry that hemming them will make the proportions wonky.
comments section of jess's review may be helpful!! https://www.thelovelist.wtf/p/are-high-sport-pants-worth-it/comments#comment-44970545
that seems perfectly valid! Maybe someone here can chime in!!
