I love the intention and thought that went into the styling and recaps on these! Alison’s three words really have been helpful for me as well - having a guide path helps when considering purchases!! Also, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness around the OdlR discussion. I think you evaluated the purchase really thoughtfully and agree that second hand is not only price smart but also good in not supporting creative teams that are aligning with people who are thriving in causing chaos and dysfunction in our democracy. Fashion can be political and we vote best with our dollars. Looking forward to seeing more intentionally styled outfits!
I loved the Oscar de la Renta dress! (I didn’t know about the inauguration dressing and am going to pretend I still don’t.)Also your skin/makeup looked amazing!! So dewy and fresh - can you share what you did?
I wish I remembered. I know I was playing with the new Ilia eye sticks and that the lip gloss was Victoria Beckham Bungalow but don't remember which else I did.
I feel like you are underselling your sense of style with these words! Classic and bold make sense to me, but I think your third word should be something like adventurous, unique, interesting, quirky, daring, etc. You always add something to each outfit that is unlike what many other people would wear. Whether it’s the color choice, jewelry, shoes or purse—you accentuate each outfit with something that is uniquely you and stands out.
I've really enjoyed watching you experiment with your style in recent years. This inspired me to revisit my three words to see if they might need a little refresh...
Love this post and how you walked through your styling process, as if you were thinking out loud with us to style the look! The mention of trying the last outfit, on without the tee and how the addition completed the outfit was especially helpful… would love to see you continue this theme as you work through your style evolution!
enjoyed reading the thinking behind each outfit! thanks for sharing those details!
i work from home and have one year old twin boys, so I feel like my style is soooooo boring these days. I make very little effort and have no one to blame but myself! Makes me almost miss my going into the corporate office days....almost. :) it's hard to justify shopping and it's really hard to get properly dressed when WFH - wearing a sweater and leggings is the most I can do most days. I am impressed that you get dressed even when not leaving the house!
I know, trust me, there are days where I feel like that too! And keep in mind, I probably only publish outfits from a few days of the week; a lot of times I’m in sweaters and leggings myself; I just don’t take photos of those outfits!!!!!
The ulla johnson sweater feels like a forever item with such a fun twist! I'm always trying to be more mindful when I shop, so I love how picking words can help you see what really fits into your wardrobe... I have some thinking to do on what mine are. Thanks for the inspo!
I loved your comment about the mesh flats going with nothing, so they go with everything. When I was in the 8th grade, I had a pair of powder blue and white, floral print Vans. I loved them, and wore them with my red/green/navy Catholic school uniform because, as I said at the time, “if it doesn’t match anything it has to match everything.”
OMG!! You look gorgeous in the ODLR dress. LOVE. The new Doen dress is really pretty. I like the color too. Those blue pants are great, the fit and length are wonderful. I must say, I like you in the slightly more fitted pant. You show them who's the boss, rather than the pant taking over. That red sweater is so flattering. The necklaces are the perfect polish. Your three words are brilliant. You look amazing.
I have a similar style to yours so I’ve enjoyed watching it evolve. I think classic and polished are two words that are pretty consistent for me. My third word when at my office might be colorful. When out with my husband in the evening it might be feminine. And when running around on the weekend it’s sporty! I have to keep the third word flexible. And thanks for acknowledging the ODLR inauguration problem. I try not to purchase brands whose values I don’t agree with like Dolce.

Other words I think of when it comes to your style are fun and happy. Ok, I’m done now. :)
See, I think bold covers all of those other words. I am really happy with the words I chose!

Thank you. It's a fun exercise!
The Oscar de la Rental dress on you....stunning !

It is such a cool piece, I really love it!
You look so healthy and happy in these photos! Love the blush you're wearing. And, of course, ALL of these outfits are incredibly cool.
thank you!
Love all these looks especially the gala one! The dewey makeup and the way your jewelry somehow makes your eyes pop is perfection.
thank you!

I love that!!!!!
All of these looks are so pretty on you! Nicely classic with “pieces of interest” that make it your own.
thank you!
Hi. I tried to use the GRACE15 discount at Pistola but it said it was invalid. Is it too late?
Oh no! It may have expired! Sorry about that.

Colorful is a good one!!! I kinda saw that falling under the "bold" umbrella for me.
