The Saturday Group Text, #38.
A stunning (and reasonably priced) dress collab, my new favorite sweats, a big summer sweater sale, & more!
Hi there! How was your week? I hibernated hard last night which was so nice.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It is a fun list! How to have a more restful vacation. A great list of books to read by Black women. Some really gorgeous home tours. How to improve your memory. A massive round-up of linen pieces for summer. The most influential podcasters. goop’s new mascara (I ordered it and will post my review once I’ve had some time to try!). The trailer for Lady in the Lake. Movies to watch on the plane. And more. I have so much fun curating this list every week, I really hope you enjoy it! xx
A stunning dress collab!
I have been talking up & Other Stories quite a bit around here (I find their pieces to be well made, unique, interesting, fun and special… but still very reasonably priced!) and a reader sent me this collaboration they did with artist Brianna Lance (thank you Elizabeth). I literally gasped when I saw it. I can’t decide between the green caftan or the blush asymmetrical dress.
I talked about this on Instagram stories last week but I really love Tinx’s collab with U Beauty. It’s a limited edition lip plasma (one of my favorite lip balm formulas, I have so many shades) in a rosy pink with just a bit of shimmer. So, so pretty on. Once it’s gone, they aren’t making more so get it before it sells out! You can use GRACEATWOOD for 20% off.
The best sweats!
The Great let me pick out a loungewear set and I am so impressed. They feel EXACTLY like vintage sweats, in the best possible way.
Cozy, not too thick, super soft. The pants have a thin waistband which looks better and is more comfortable and the sweatshirt is nice and long like a tunic. When I put this on, I have a hard time taking it off! Both items run true to size.
Jenni Kayne Sale
There is a big sale happening at Jenni Kayne. Now through 6/24, take 20% off! I am a huge fan of JK”s sweaters. My #1 fav is probably the fisherman sweater (I wear a size medium, it’s TTS) in either cotton or cashmere. The cotton is perfect for summer nights. I also have and love this cotton stripe sweater in a couple colors, same with this structured cardigan.
And also: I just bought this white linen dress and it is perfect. I wore it in LA but of course forgot to take a pic. Also TTS! FYI - I don’t like how they styled it with the belt, I wear mine without a belt.
What I Watched This Week:
We watched two great movies with the kids when I was in LA.
First, we took them to see the new Inside Out movie (it came out last Friday in theaters) which was just so fun and clever. I loved it! Fun to watch on the big screen.
On Monday, my boyfriend’s eleven year old insisted that I would really love the Japanese Godzilla (Godzilla Minus One) on Netflix. I was unconvinced but wanted to be polite and..? He was totally right! It was SO GOOD. The plot had a really beautiful redemption arc, a bit of a love story… it’s honestly one of my favorite films of the year. I recommend watching it in Japanese with subtitles. The dubbed version got put on for a moment and it was really weird. Highly recommend this.
Last night, I started Becoming Karl Lagerfeld on Hulu. It’s pretty good so far. This makes me happy as I had been disappointed in The New Look.
I also started Presumed Innocent on Apple. Only one episode in but it’s good so far! I love Jake Gyllenhaal. I need to also watch the original with Harrison Ford.
Extras:
I was super honored to talk to The Strategist about some of my outdoor entertaining essentials!
Shopbop Hearts are up to date! So many great new arrivals this week.
We talked about Chan Luu in last week’s group text. They just kicked off their summer sale. So many gorgeous finds, up to 70% off. I love all the caftans too!
Yes Godzilla was amazing!!! I prefer Godzilla when he’s told via a Japanese lens.
Why didn’t you like about The New Look? I have some thoughts but am interested in yours.
