outfit details + more shopbop favorites in this post!

Hi! Weekend Reading is up on the blog. I had fun (as always) making this list. Vogue’s guide to layering jewelry. How to make more money without working harder. Millennials are cool again. ;) The best 25 new beach reads, and the NYT’s summer reading quiz. Why cozy content is king for stressed-out young adults, how acting differently can make you happier. 32 completely free things to do this summer. How to get rid of a sunburn, fast. Queer thrillers to read. The most beautiful places in Europe. And loads more. Enjoy!!!

Also, the blog got a little refresh. Plus something new. Now, you can sign up to receive new posts by email. Check it out—I love the updates.

PS - this one gets a little long! Click through to Substack to read the whole thing. And if you are feeling nice, give it a heart. It helps more people find Scratch Pad. <3

Dianna Singh Caftans

Okay, this is fantastic. Dianna Singh is the features director at Allure, and she’s launched a gorgeous line of caftans and matching sets. Everything is beautiful, everything is under $250 . . . and it’s all inclusively sized. Size 1/2 will fit a 0-12, size 3/4 fits size 14 and up. This green bow-tie caftan was a must-for me (I pre-ordered) but I’m also eyeing this silky pale yellow number.

Bluemercury Sale

If there’s a beauty sale that you should not miss, it’s this one at Bluemercury. Why? Because a) you can save up to 30% (unheard of in the beauty space) and b) Skinceuticals is included (though only 15% off), which is rare! I kept my own list short and sweet. The extra splurgy, luxurious things I only buy on sale. The big Baies candle, two packs of this amazing jaw mask (my shoot day/big event must), a fresh bottle of C E Ferulic, the biggie Bader rich cream, and a new lip mask I’d wanted to try just for fun. I’m not not recommending you team up with a friend or two to hit that $1k threshold and save 30% off.

Flamingo Estate Garlic Olive Oil

Is it gross to say that I want to drink this incredibly delicious garlic olive oil? Because I do. It is the yummiest garlic oil I’ve ever tasted. I put it on my salad, I use it for dipping bread, and I put it on steak. Truly, it makes everything it touches a little more tasty. It’s a limited edition, so when it's gone, it’s gone. I recommend ordering a few bottles. One (or two!) for you, a couple to have on hand for hostess gifts! Just trust me on this one.

The Shorts I Can’t Stop Wearing

I am almost embarrassed by how much I wear these Varley shorts. I say almost, because they are the best shorts. I love them so much. Cute, easy, comfortable — but with a bit of polish. Perfect for lounging at home, working in the garden, and getting out for a walk. I cannot quit them. I think with the forest green, I’m now up to 5 pairs. I also love this shade of blue. I recommend pairing them with the matching pullover for my ideal hibernation ‘fit. I prefer the 3.5” inseam, but they also make a slightly longer pair.

Season 3 is off to a stressful start!

My boyfriend and I watched Mountainhead. I had been excited by the premise (it’s from the Succession team and it’s a satire about billionaire tech bros), but I found the characters to be completely insufferable (I know that’s the point). It just wasn’t enjoyable in the least bit. And frankly, it hit too close to home for me as I’ve met people just like them.

We also started watching Stick, with Owen Wilson. We watched the first three episodes, and despite having no interest in golf, I’m enjoying it. It’s heartwarming and funny, but I don’t feel fully invested.

Last night, I started watching the third season of Ginny & Georgia. So far, it’s a little depressing and anxiety-inducing, but I’m chugging along, as it’s been a favorite in the past!

  • Don’t miss Lia Burke Libaire’s latest art drop on Moda Operandi. I want every single piece, especially this shell.

  • Anthropologie’s summer dress game is strong. I ordered this, this, and this.

  • How fun is the éliou x ciao lucia collab? I love it all!

  • Reformation is having a “secret sale.” Loads of good dresses like this mini.

  • Shopbop Hearts are up to date. Tons of happy finds for summer.

  • Sarah Flint’s new raffia ballet flats are v v cute.

  • I like the Arrae creatine gummies a lot. I just ordered a second container.

  • I’ve been weaning myself off of Amazon fashion, but then my bff sent me these amazing Row dupes, and welp, I had to do it.

  • Faherty made us a code (and my codes page is updated!). Use GRACE20

  • The Great makes some of the best sweats, and I absolutely love the new embroidered daisy collection. I snapped up this pullover and these joggers.

ICYMI - I am adding a little extra content beyond the paywall each week.

What’s below:

  • This week’s high + low

  • A fifth find — an Etsy gem <3

  • Substack articles from fellow publishers that I enjoyed.
