The Saturday Group Text, #78
40% off at J.Crew, a gorgeous collection of nightgowns, my new wine glasses, a favorite lip combo, and more
Hi :) Weekend Reading is up on the blog. I loved this week’s links. Profiles of both Lauren Santo Domingo and Jon Hamm. A new short list of the best books. Amy Shirley’s first Whitney show (this looks like a must to me!). The best mall brands. A fashion history of floral prints. Jasmine Guillory’s new book. The best TV shows of 2025 so far, plus Walton Goggins and Michelle Williams on their respective shows. A few dreamy homes, loads of shopping links, and so much more. I hope you enjoy!
PS - this one gets a little long! Click through to Substack to read the whole thing. And if you are feeling nice, give it a heart. It helps more people find me! <3
40% off at J.Crew
I have been waiting for this, as I rarely pay full price at J.Crew; I always wait for a sale! Right now is the time to shop; they’re running 40% off sitewide.
I have this linen shift dress in both white and light orange, and it’s perfect. It's the best throw-on-and-go dress!
This pajama-esque (top + pants) was an immediate hell yes for me—it came in the mail this week and it’s amazing.
I’m finally buying the two dresses that have been lingering in my cart: this green and white striped midi and this blue shirt dress.
I obviously need this fun oversized scrunchie, of course.
These mesh flats come in so many great colors.
Don’t sleep on the beaded jewelry. This stone necklace and matching bracelet, this colorful strand of beads, and these sweet colorful fresh water pearl huggies are all amazing!
A gorgeous lip combo!
I really love these two products together. First of all, Merit’s new lip liners are really pretty and blendable. They’re nice and hydrating and wear well: you’ll never wind up with that dreaded ring of liner around your mouth. The liner makes the perfect anchor for gloss or lip color. Coupe (a cool pink) is my favorite shade. And then I top it off with a little of their tinted lip oil—in the photo above, I used “pointelle!”
Harling’s Nightgowns
I have featured If Only’s beautiful nightgowns here before and was delighted to see them team up with one of my favorite Substack writers, on a collection of perfect nightgowns. It was hard to pick a favorite, but I went with The Harling. It’s just so pretty. You could easily wear it as a swimsuit coverup or out of the house with a slip underneath. The size 1 fits me perfectly!
My New Wine Glasses
I have been a fan of Zalto’s wine glasses for years now; I genuinely believe that the wine tastes better in these glasses. It was time for some new glassware, so I spent a bit of time researching. Kurt Josef Zalto was the original designer of Zalto glass, but he sold the company that still bears his name. Today, he is the artist behind Josephinenhütte, an entirely new entity. He calls the Josephine glassware his masterpiece, and I tend to agree — each one feels like a work of art.
The purpose of the curve of the glass is to elevate wines to their full potential. The kink acts like a breakwater, enhancing the release of the wine’s aroma. Pretty cool, right?
Like everyone, I watched The White Lotus finale. I don’t have any specific hot takes to share. I found it disappointing in so many ways (so many loose ends) and terrifying in others, but also, there isn’t a show out there that I like as much as this, so I am not going to complain too much.
I started watching The Studio and really like it. The first episode was excellent, the second one stressed me, and the third was very good. Now, I want more! Thirty-minute episodes that are very funny (plus I love anything about the film business). A girlfriend remarked that she couldn’t do it because the camera motion made her sick, and I totally could see that being a problem, but it doesn’t bother me personally
The Life List on Netflix is a rom-comy sort of film where a young woman is a little lost, and her (deceased) mother gives her her ten-year-old self’s “bucket list” as a challenge in order to receive her inheritance. A nice, feel-good watch . . . I enjoyed it in earnest.
Hacks is back! I haven’t had a chance to watch it, but I’m excited. I’m also looking forward to watching Jon Hamm’s new show, Your Friends and Neighbors.
Hill House’s latest collection of dresses is too good! I ordered two dresses (this and this). I really wanted this one as well, but I had to limit myself to one dress per print. These are the absolute perfect, easy dresses to wear around Charleston when it’s hot. I size down to a small in both and can skip a bra.
- sent over a box of their frozen baked goods; I am outrageously excited about it. I can’t wait to try the chocolate chip cookies and plan to serve the croissants for Easter brunch with my family.
Shopbop Hearts are up to date. I added a lot of pretty Spring and Summer finds this week.
BaubleBar debuted a new vacation edit. For me, it’s all about the shell bracelets. I got this and this, and they are perfect. Also, these studs. I’ll share photos shortly.
Speaking of vacation jewelry, how fun are these new Hart shell pendants!?
Land’s End is having a big sale. Take 50% off swimwear. I have + love this suit and this coverup. Also, take 50% off full-price styles and up to 70% off sale. You know I am all about their no-iron sheets and duvet. Use code SEASHELL
