The Saturday Group Text, #75
An unexpectedly good color combo, travel essentials, thoughts on Westman Atelier's bronzing drops, stunning enamel paintings, and more.
Hi there. Happy weekend! How was your week?
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. A lot of fun things to click on. The most anticipated books of the year. Recipes I want to make, hotels I want to stay in. Shopping finds, of course. The best new New York restaurant openings of the year (so far). Dumb comedies to watch. Beauty editors’ favorite new products. Is the age of being “very online” over? And lots more — I hope you enjoy!
PS - this one gets a little long. Click through to Substack to read the whole thing. And if you are feeling nice, give it a heart; it helps the algorithm. <3
Ultra Bright Pottery from East Fork
I was telling a friend earlier in the week that I keep seeing purple and green together, and I kind of like the pairing. It’s unexpected, and I’ve never been a huge purple person, but I like it. East Fork’s Spring collection is so fun. They’ve introduced two new colorways—prune and yuzu. Naturally, I am most drawn to the yuzu (chartreuse!), but it pairs really well with purple, right? I am thinking I might try to pair these two colors together next time I have a dinner party. My favorite pieces from the collection are the yuzu dinner set, these napkins, these glasses, and this stunning platter!
Travel Essentials from Hudson + Bleecker
As someone who loves both travel and being organized, I absolutely love my new travel case and jewelry folio from Hudson + Bleecker. I love that these give me a place for everything. The Voyager Travel Case lives in my roller bag and is fully TSA-compliant. I really like that the clear bags and pouch easily snap in and out. The Bijoux Jewelry Folio goes inside my personal item; I like that the shape stacks easily with my notebook, book, and planner. They’re beautiful + really easy to clean. Hudson + Bleecker gave us an exclusive code — GRACE25 for 25% off.

Westman Atelier Bronzing Drops
I got my hands on the new Westman Atelier Bronzing Drops (fully in stock at Nordstrom), and they are just as good as everyone says they are. I assumed there would be a learning curve, but much to my surprise, they are pretty much foolproof. This may be because I got the lightest shade (it gives me the perfect glow—not overtly tan but like maybe I got outside for an hour or two(. No streaks, no blotchiness, just a bronzy glow that lasts all day. I’ll be using these every day. I just apply with my fingers but you could easily use a brush!
Inka Essenhigh
An Instagram rabbit hole led me to Inka Essenhigh’s page, and whoa her work became an instant obsession. I love flowers, so was immediately drawn to the above work but all of her luminous enamel paintings are just incredible. She has a show going on at the Victoria Miro gallery in London . . . almost feels like an excuse to book a trip. ;)
It wasn’t a big week of watching things (I am really enjoying my book), but I did (of course!) watch The White Lotus on Sunday night. Sam Rockwell’s monologue will live rent-free in my head for the foreseeable future.
I did finish Scamanda, which was interesting enough but really, I just wanted to read!
OK, I am so excited about the Houses & Parties book—instant pre-order!
My friend
asked a bunch of Substackers and cool people about what we’re excited to wear this summer. I was honored to participate!Shopbop Hearts are up to date.
Did you see Dorsey’s new earring drop? It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think it has to be these emeralds or the large azure drops. The color is ridiculously pretty!
At
rec, I ordered this beaded key chain kit as a fun project to do with my niece. She’s getting good at spelling; this will be fun.Great Jones launched a collection of striped ceramic designs, and I really love it. It’s equal parts happy and nostalgic.
My friend (and first blogging photographer!)
has created a beautiful photography book! It’s a plus-size photo table book celebrating editorial fashion, beauty, and body imagery.
ICYMI - I am adding a little extra content beyond the paywall each week.
