The Saturday Group Text, #70
A Loewe candle lookalike, new arrivals from dôen and Hill House, an addictive new fragrance, a fine jewelry addition, loads of TV recs, + more
Hi there!
I hope you’re having a cozy weekend.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It is a fun list. Fall 2025’s Y2K revival. A few recipes I’m excited to make. Celerie Kemble’s insanely gorgeous NYC reno. Book-to-screen adaptations to look forward to. Dan Pelosi’s very happy, colorful home. Is purple going to be fall’s big color? Things to stop worrying about. Mike White’s vision for The White Lotus. Imani Perry’s latest. Plus the usual shopping finds and so much more!
PS—This is a long one, so click through to Substack to read the whole thing. If you want to be nice, give it a heart!
Faux-ay-vae Candle
(That’s a play on Loewe’s pronunciation, ha). A couple of years ago, my friend Allie gave me the most delicious-smelling Loewe cucumber candle. I savored it and, when it was done, kept the vessel for pens. At $130, it is one of (if not the most!) expensive candles I’ve owned. When I saw these (on sale for) $26 candles on Amazon, I squealed a little. I bought five in the name of research. I started with orange blossom on Thursday night, and I’m very impressed. The throw is really good, the burn time is solid . . . and the containers are so gorgeous.

New Drops from Hill House and dôen
It was a big week for feminine dresses! Hill House and dôen both had pretty epic drops.
This was my favorite Hill House drop in ages, maybe forever. It feels a little more grown-up and sophisticated (but still very true to their brand). I got two dresses: this floral and white midi (the fabric is stunning) and this smocked dress (feels like a more elevated Ellie?). I really want this mini dress (the bows!) and this mini (a favorite cut). I wear a small in the two I got but would do a medium in the shorter styles.
As for dôen Spring 1? Also just so strong!!!! This blue and white floral midi dress is the prettiest, most perfect shade of cerulean blue. How fabulous is the sleeve detail on this white dress (pictured above)? I am thinking about getting this citron-hued midi as well. Their dresses are just the best. Breezy but polished and easy to dress up or down. I size down to a small in these sorts of dresses as they are roomy + adjustable.
The styling above is a little weird, but I wanted to give you perspective on the size of my Apple watch and my 2.5mm lab-grown diamond tennis bracelet. Dorsey recently launched their new mini 1.8mm lab-grown diamond tennis bracelets, and wow, they are perfect. I personally think a daintier, more delicate tennis bracelet looks better than a chunkier one. I wouldn’t go above 3mm in stones. If forced to choose, I actually prefer the 1.8mm to the 2.5mm.
U Beauty’s New Fragrance
You know by now that my love for U Beauty runs deep (the peel! the neck cream! the face tint! All of it, honestly). When I heard that they launched a new fragrance, I was immediately excited (though also nervous, as fragrance is so personal!). The brand sent me a lab sample to test about a month ago, and it launched this week. PROEM is both unusual and classic. It’s feminine but not overtly so. I definitely smell rose and lychee (I love those things), but it’s tempered with a little bit of tartness (vetiver?) to keep it from feeling saccharine-sweet. Every time I wear it, I like it more and more. And my goodness, that bottle - so elegant. If you are new, GRACEATWOOD gets you 20% off.
Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix. I was a little hungover after Saturday night’s party and watched the entire season. I wasn’t familiar with Belle Gibson (wellness influencer who faked cancer), so the story was interesting. It was medium. What I liked was that besides highlighting Belle’s crimes, it made a point to show that a lot of these unconventional treatments (like the juice fast and black salve) do not work. What I didn’t like: It was chaotic and too long. I think I would have preferred a 90-minute documentary about what happened vs. this 6 episode-scripted series, but it clearly held my attention long enough to watch the whole thing. (If I hadn’t been hungover, I probably would have abandoned it).
I guess I was on a kick of watching things about badly behaved influencers—I finished watching An Update On Our Family on Max. This is about the family who rehomed their adopted son. The whole thing made me sad.
Kinda Pregnant on Netflix with Amy Schumer was decently funny. A pregnancy lie spirals out of control, and Amy’s character finds herself in quite a predicament. It’s not great cinema, but it will make you laugh. It was a good hangover watch.
I was thinking about (sorry) how mediocre everything new I’ve watched has been and decided to re-watch something old. I re-watched both Something’s Gotta Give with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton and Love Story (I forgot how good Ali MacGraw’s wardrobe is!); both were extremely satisfying.
And then, I watched the new Bridget Jones movie Mad About the Boy! It was nostalgic and fun—like hanging out with old friends—though I’ll admit that it was very sad at times.
There are new markdowns at Loeffler Randall. My picks are platforms (these and these!), pale pink ballet flats, and suede pumps with chic higher vamps.
Proud sister moment:
’s third book is available for pre-order!Shopbop Hearts are up to date. I added lots of pretty spring dresses and accessories this week.
Crown Affair gave us a code: GRACE15. They are pretty much my favorite haircare brand right now. I love their hydrating shampoo and conditioner, dry shampoo, oil, and leave-in treatment—I could go on!
Bose is having a President’s Day sale with up to 25% off. I got my boyfriend these headphones for Valentine’s Day (on major sale!) and this is a solid little speaker.
J.Crew’s President’s Day Sale is a big one: 40% off. Some things I have and love are this sweater jacket, these square-toe ballet flats, and these kick flares.
1st Dibs is also having a big sale, with up to 30%. This one is fun to peruse.
Freda Salvador’s long weekend sale. Take an extra 20% off with code EXTRA20. I love these woven flats.
ICYMI - I am adding a little extra content beyond the paywall each week.
What’s below:
A little more personal content: this week’s high + low. This week was a real doozy.
A fifth find: very cool (slightly offensive maybe) ceramics shop. I love!
