The Saturday Group Text, #68
A nostalgic cleanser, my new favorite lip gloss, a few good TV recs, working on my personal style, a jogger-legging hybrid, and more
I hope you are having a great weekend. This week’s list is definitely an indoorsy one as I’m in peek hibernation mode. Skincare, books, the coziest joggers . . . you get my drift.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It’s a fun list. The closet organizers of the ultra-rich. Bridget Jones, trailblazer. A gorgeous Deer Valley home and lots of yummy recipes (Valentine’s Day dinner ideas, Buffalo pigs in blankets). The 57 most beautiful places in the world. How to be more organized. A Miami Hotel that is at the top of my list. A few fun bookish reads (I love The Cut’s bookish newsletter). And more . . . enjoy!
This post is a little long (as always), so click through to read it on Substack. Give it a “heart” if you are feeling generous! Stay calm, comfy, and rested, friends. Xo
Versed Cleansing Balm
I mentioned this briefly in last week’s skincare update (linked below if you missed it), but I really love this cleansing balm. It does all of the requisite things: takes my makeup off, leaves skin super soft, no stripping or dryness . . . but I love the scent. It smells exactly like Noxzema, which, as a child of the 80s and 90s, is peak nostalgia for me. Also, it’s a great price.
Outdoor Voices Joggers
Are they joggers? Leggings? Something in between. I hadn’t looked at Outdoor Voices in a long time, but Bradley’s blog led me there (I loved the look of this long sleeve tee and wound up ordering it). But the real gem of my OV order was these legging-jogger hybrid. They are the perfect in-between. Not baggy, not tight. Just a real delight to lounge around in.
A Really Good Lip Gloss
Violet Grey let me choose a few things for gifting, one of which was this Victoria Beckham lip gloss in the shade Bungalow. It’s the prettiest shade of pink. I also tried Picante, but it’s a little too light for my liking. Bungalow is the winner! Bonus points for the creamy, high-shine formula that isn’t even a tiny bit sticky or tacky. I’ve been wearing this one on repeat.
I bought ’s book when it first came out over a year ago (I find her style advice so helpful: I pay for her Substack and never miss a newsletter). Recently, I was reorganizing my bookshelf and “found” my copy and realized that now is the time!!!! Before I start shopping for Spring, while I’m in this cozy winter season where I’m not shopping very much . . . now! This is the time to do the behind-the-scenes work. So far, all I’ve done is choose my three words (I went with classic, polished, and bold). I’m really enjoying the book and feel like I’m getting a lot out of it.
I finished A Man on the Inside on Netflix, and it was such a fun treat. We talked about it last week, but the show is about a retired widower who goes “inside” a retirement home to help a private investigator locate a thief. The show is charming, and the episodes are short. I was happy to see that there will be a second season. I really recommend it, especially if you are also in a state of winter blah-ness.
A funny story about The Night Agent on Netflix: I was certain I was watching Season 2 and that I had seen Season 1 (I hadn’t), but I couldn’t remember Season 1, so I looked up a plot synopsis only to realize I was actually watching Season 1 (this so silly but Netflix remembers your place so I didn’t pay attention). Anyway, I have no idea how I missed the first season, but WOW — it’s reall good. I watched the entire first season and am now onto season 2. Season 2 isn’t quite as good as the first but it’s holding my attention.
I watched You’re Cordially Invited . . . on Amazon Prime. I hate to say this (I love Reese and Will!), but guys! This was awful. Two different families end up booking the same (small) Southern resort. Chaos ensues; it’s a rom-com that had a few cute moments that just fell totally flat for me. I really hate being the bearer of bad news as I want more lighthearted movies with my favorite actors like these two. But this is not it!
I was sent these 1mg THC gummies and love them because you can get a more gradual buzz. I’ll eat 2 or 3 over the course of an evening and feel just a little bit tipsy/high. Bonus points for the passionfruit + plum flavor!
Shopbop Hearts are up to date. So many fun resort finds; it makes me want to plan a trip.
According to my bestie in New York, these sneaker-Mary-Jane hybrids from Miu Miu will be Spring’s big shoe. I am into it, especially with all the walking I do.
I love this ultra-cozy reversible pullover. It’s short, so I sized up.
Freda Salvador brought back my code GRACE10 (new customers only). I couldn’t use it as I’m not new, but I bought these chartreuse flats. They’re perfect. I also have these Fisherman Sandals and love the mixed grommets.
(so glad her Substack is back!!!) linked to this deep hip stretch in a recent send, and oooh—it’s a good one. I hold a lot of tension here, and it helped to open everything up.
Alex Mill launched a happy Spring collection! I love this jacket.
Hotel Lobby dropped three new reed diffuser scents. I think I’m going to need “Spa” for my guest bath.
I’m intrigued by Necessaire’s new deodorant. It sounds heavy-duty (without any of the bad stuff).
Hooray! Soeur made us a code! I adore this brand. Use GRACE10. A few things I love right now are this dress, this trench, and this dress.
Love this list, Grace - thanks! I have the Necessaire deodorant and I can vouch for it, really good so far!
I’d love your review of the Necessaire deodorant! I had the gel and liked it but it definitely didn’t feel heavy duty at all— and I ran through it so fast! This aluminum free deodorant game can be so challenging….
