The Saturday Group Text, #66
A new kitchen obsession, the prettiest blurred lip tint, Shopbop sale picks, no-iron sheets and a really good movie rec.
Hi there! <3
I hope you had a good week and are somewhere nice and cozy as you read this.
Before we dive in, just a reminder that I am donating all paid subscription revenue through the end of the weekend to the LAFD foundation. So, if you’ve been thinking about upgrading, now is a good time. <3
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. I love this list and had fun pulling it together. Book-to-screen adaptations to look forward to. How to keep your friends. Why Americans need to party more. The most anticipated books (and TV shows) of 2025. A profile of Lorne Michaels, a Parisian pied-a-terre, how to throw a fondue party, the best new restaurants in New York, the usual shopping finds, and so much more.
Once again, this post is too long for email! So click through, and give it a heart if you want to be nice :) xo
Extra 25% off Shopbop Sale
Shopbop marked down a slew of styles after the holidays, and now everything is an extra 25% off (with code EXTRA25). I highly recommend taking a peek, a lot of great stuff is included. Some personal favorites . . . clockwise from top left: Barn Jacket, Chunky Stripe Sweater, Black Belt, Tan Knit Pants (so cozy), Black + Pink Lace Dress, Black + Tan Paisley Dress, Black Mules (already a great price), Baggy-ish jeans (love these!), Black Flats (Loro Piana dupe!) Black Crescent Bag, Striped Cardigan
Forgive me if this is too specific, but I had to share it because I love it! Pickles are one of my favorite snacks, but I do not like to fish one out of the pickle water. This jar is a game-changer in that it’s kind of like an hourglass. You turn it upside down, and the pickle water flows to the bottom. You can just eat your pickles straight out of the jar. Then, flip it back around to store it in the fridge. Really smart and you can also use it for olives or other items that stay fresh in liquid. It’s totally unnecessary, but brings me major joy.
I ordered a bunch of products from Violette (probably for an upcoming blog post!) and absolutely love the Bisou Balm. It is matte but not drying and feels like nothing on your lips. The formula is sheer and buildable, and I like that it’s very French girl easy . . . you can’t mess it up, and if it blurs or fades a little bit, it looks good! I’ve been wearing Rose Latte as my everyday lip, but I also got Bonbon Coquelicot, a pretty orange-red. I like this brand a lot!
I feel like everyone has been talking about these sheets! I never cheat on Boll & Branch, but I had to try them to see if they lived up to the hype. And they did—these sheets are as good as everyone says they are. These are amazing, and they really do come out of the dryer perfectly; no ironing is required. I’ve always been pretty low-maintenance about my bedding. I do all white; I like it rumpled. But these are extremely soft (hello, 700-thread count) and do not wrinkle. Consider me a fan.
PS - use code DREAM for 40% off!
Young Sherlock Holmes // It came up with one of my film-buff friends that I hadn’t ever seen this. He had remarked that Harry Potter borrowed so much from it, and he was right! I won’t be able to look at those movies the same—it’s truly wild! (Both are awesome in their own ways!) I loved this. Definitely the best thing I watched all week. It was a super fun watch that I must have somehow missed when it came out in the eighties. It’s perfect to watch this time of year (hibernation szn).
Mufasa // I saw this in theaters last weekend with friends. It was good, not great. Worth seeing on the big screen though as the visuals (those lions!) are pretty epic.
Sex Lives of College Girls // This is such a fun show; why do I always forget about it? I like to put on an episode at the end of a long day.
A few more good sales:
Emme Parsons—so much is half off! My sequin heels are included.
Alex Mill—this sweater jacket is 70% off? One of my fave cardigans is half off? The discounts are steep!
Net-a-Porter’s sale is really good right now. I love this sexy dress and these mesh ballet flats.
But also, Doen’s Snow Day Sale. I have and LOVE this dress.
Shopbop Hearts are up to date.
New arrivals that caught my eye:
A new Posse drop on Moda! I’m loving this striped tee + the matching skirt.
Alex Mill’s new arrivals. I’m intrigued by their take on the kick-flare.
Hill House also had a fun new drop. I love this cute mini-dress; it’s such a good print.
This little pajama set from Lake is a dream. Such a pretty pattern, too.
A great code from Rent the Runway! SHOPMYXRTRJAN will apply 45% off to one month of any of their 5 or 10 item subscription plans, as well as 45% off any resale items (min of $60 value). This camel coat is a gem, especially for 45% off!
<in the quietest voice possible> do people.. iron their sheets? should I have been doing this?? lol
Thank you for making me check the bisou balm because that bon bon color (been stalking it for weeks) is finally back in stock...(and on it's way to me). have a great saturday!
