The Saturday Group Text, #63
The best cookie recipe, emerald green pajamas, a yummy morning treat, mini martinis, and more!
Hi there :)
I hope your Saturday is off to a slow and cozy start . . . that’s the plan over here! I am hoping to finish the last of my holiday shopping (and wrapping) today. Besides that, some yoga, some reading . . . just cozying up and enjoying being home.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It’s a good list. The cookies I made for a holiday cookie swap. The death of the literary man. Lots more best-of lists. Best TV shows, best new restaurants, Christmas TV episodes. A really good homebody gift guide. The most anticipated movies (and books!) of 2025.
Silky Green Pajamas
I have talked about Lunya’s washable silk pajamas at length here and love them so much. I put mine in the dryer as well; the trick is to take them out right while they are still warm so that they don’t wrinkle. My favorite styles are the short set (I size up to a large as the shorts are teensy) and the classic long PJ set (I wear a medium in this). I have quite a collection already but could not resist the new emerald green. Finally. The color is so beautiful - the perfect shade of emerald. I love the classic set (those covered buttons really do it for me) and also the short set. Also, not green but thought that this Mondrian-esque pair is so chic.
Peppermint Mocha nutpods
I am a big fan of nutpods. I like that they are creamy and delicious (but won’t give me a stomach ache) and just flavor, no sweetness. (I may be in the minority here; I love my coffee to be creamy but I do not like sweet coffee drinks!). The limited edition holiday peppermint mocha flavor is such a treat. I bought a 3-pack but may need to stockpile more? Very very yummy.
I bought my Metier market tote two summers ago and it remains one of my most favorite bags. It was one of my best purchases of the year and I joke that it is my car as it holds everything while I’m running around town on foot. Metier’s bags are so special. The quality is really beautiful (the suede!!) and the designs are stunning (but not in a super recognizable, “everyone has it” sort of way like some other designer bags). Now that it’s cooled down, this is back to being my everyday bag but I also have and love the Cala tote for travel (I like this for travel as it’s lighter than the Market tote and my travel items already weigh enough!!).
PS - how cute is this mini? I really love the color.
Mini Martinis.
I am convinced that mini martinis are going to be the big drink trend of 2025. If my prediction is correct, I’ll be very happy. They are cute, people are drinking less alcohol, it feels like a novelty but not in a cheesy sort of way. There is a bar here in Charleston (Last Saint) that makes them and I think it’s genius. I love a martini but can only have one (max) or I want to die the next day. I’m planning on mini martini parties in the New Year. Chopin and Fferrone (one of my favorites for beautiful glassware) teamed up on a gorgeous luxe set that is absolutely to-die-for. You can buy here (vodka included) or here (sans vodka).
Other mini martini glass ideas: this very affordable set from Amazon, these sake glasses (they easily double for martinis!), these moss green glasses, these colorful “dessert cups,” and of course you know I love my seashell cups!
I did not watch much this week . . . things were very social and I was also quiet caught up in reading The Inheritance Games!
I started Black Doves on Netflix. I watched two episodes and liked it but did not love it the way everyone else seems to. I’ll definitely be watching more though. I love Keira Knightley and I love spy shows.
I also watched Subservient (the Megan Fox movie where she plays a bot) and it was fine. Mindless fun but not “good.”
Dôen dropped a new collection, and of course, I bought this dress. (I size down in this one). I love this one as well, but I can’t think of where I’d possibly wear it.
How cool is this sculpted t-shirt?
Shopbop hearts are up to date. So many fun finds.
Sakara sent over some meals, which have been so helpful in terms of keeping up healthy eating (and getting all my veggies) during a week of parties and dinners. I’m a huge fan. Use code ATWOOD20.
I just re-upped on my favorite sunscreen.
I can’t get enough of these earrings (another
rec; her substack is so good!). They look like fine jewelry.High Sport launched some fun new things on Moda; these pants are everything.
The new Hotel Lobby fine fragrance is excellent. It’s inspired by their New York candle so it smells like that (think sexy woods and amber) but I like it more than the candle. This will sell out!
Madewell’s boho bag is back in more suede options and a gorgeous woven leather. This is a favorite of mine and one of my best-sellers from 2024.
Have a great weekend! xx
Total rec has a Google sheet with a bunch of cookie recipes that's really good -- why is scrolling recipes so entertaining?!?! I agree on Black Doves, it's kind of like a watered down more Hollywood version of Slow Horses -- but man, the actor who plays Jason is a serious hawtttty!!
Mini martinis forever, especially now that that's the most amount of alcohol I can consume without getting a ridiculous hangover (sadly). Also need that link for the high sport pants - it's going to the main Moda page and I want to know which ones you love!
