The Saturday Group Text, #43
Needlepoint pillows, a perfect oversized shirt, my podcast episode, Hunza G thoughts, and more.
Hi friends! This was a busy week, but a good one. The news cycle had me feeling hopeful and energized. I had a fun dinner out with four of my girlfriends. I got out for some walks and remembered that sometimes sunshine and movement are all you need.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It is a fun list. Time’s list of the world’s best places (what an undertaking). How to look good in this brutal heat. Everything we know about the new Joker movie (and a Humphrey Bogart doc I’m excited for). Sour cream and onion potato salad and a twenty minute cake. Wardrobe foundations. Why Gen Z loves a theme. And of course, some cat lady stuff because how could I not?
PS - if you love my shirt above (it’s perfectly oversized with a drop shoulder, it feels like borrowing a man’s shirt, 15GRACE gets you 15% off!
A new fine jewelry brand to stalk
I am always on the hunt for chic new fine jewelry brands and Pariah is one to watch. I love their focus on sustainability and conscientious craftsmanship. To be transparent, they gifted me this beautiful white agate + recycled gold ring. I was not obligated to write about it, but I wanted to as I think it is so unique and cool. Other things I like: my ring in green aventurine, these east-west white topaz earrings (which look a lotttttt like this Jessica McCormack pair that is forever top of my jewelry wish list). Also: it is sold out but how cool is this triple diamond eternity band?
They also gave us a code GRACE10 - regular price items only!
My Bad on Paper Episode
It was so fun to come back as a guest on Bad on Paper! I brought three things I loved. We talked a lot about favorite audiobooks (+ listening speed), needlepoint, summer TV, my obsession with grilled peaches, an outfit combo I really love, how we’re staying sane in this wild & crazy news cycle… and more!
Another enthusiastic endorsement for Hunza G.
I have heard so much buzz about Hunza G’s swimsuits but they all seem to come from size zero influencers. I am a solid size medium and want boob support and a full coverage bottom. I could not for the life of me understand how this “magic” swimsuit was supposed to fit me AND someone much smaller. The math was not adding up but I was still tempted! I ordered this one in the blue and I love it!
It really is magic? The fabric stretches to accommodate some things (the derriere coverage is NOT skimpy which is important to me) and constricts to hold you in (while my chest is not big but also not small, I felt like it had good support - kind of like a nap dress!). It’s also just… very, very comfortable. Two thumbs up from me.
Furbish Needlepoint Pillows
These pillows are nothing new but they are one of my go-to gifts, both to give and receive. There is truly a pillow for every personality but I personally love “My favorite thing to make for dinner is reservations” and “I want to be where the people aren’t.” My latest (above!) might just be my favorite. They just spark joy and add a little sass and personality to your home, which I really love.
What I Watched This Week:
I have been (thanks to ) on a bender with INDUSTRY (Max) Over the weekend, I watched the entire first season. Now I am onto season 2. Becca described it to me as Succession meets Euphoria which is pretty spot on. I am enjoying it. My only qualm is that I wish it were less drugs & partying and more glamour/rich people enjoying their riches (a la Succession) but that makes sense as the plot really centers around the younger characters. Season 3 is out August 11th and Kit Harington joins, so that is exciting.
I also caught the finale of Presumed Innocent. Loved this show and Jake G. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I really like that it was a little different from the movie (which was also very very good!).
Extras:
Did you see that Houses & Parties launched a new HOME category? It is pretty dreamy. Mostly out of my budget but so fun to dream/get inspiration.
Shopbop hearts are up to date! Loads of fun end of summer finds.
I have absolutely no need for this but am nevertheless a bit obsessed with this marbled enamel dinnerware. Top of my “want” list!
LOVE hunza!! The colors you picked are fabulous. I just want to add that since they only go up to size 12 (or that's their recommended highest size), there's another company that covers 14-22 called YouSwim! Same concept and it's nice to have a size inclusive accompaniment!
NEED the circus pillow so badly
