The Saturday Group Text, #27
A happy print for spring, cozy personalized sweatshirts, a sisterly new Substack to follow, and more.
Hi friends! Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It’s a great list. Books to read in the sunshine. “I’m 96 and I’ve had 3 face lifts.” A boozy cocktail that sounds quite tempting. An INCREDIBLE rental bedroom makeover (I was blown away by her creativity). A slew of great shopping recs. The James Beard nominees. And so much more. Head on over and read the post (and have a great weekend!).
PS - The big Shopbop sale kicks off Monday. In preparation, I’ve updated my hearts. (There will be a big blog post on Monday too!). Also: this page is updated with all of my current discount codes.
The happiest rainbow tote!
How gorgeous is this happy rainbow tote? I love the colors so much (it’s hard to do rainbow in a sophisticated, more subtle way but Sezane pulls it off!) and am envisioning picnics, farmers market runs, and days at the beach. Just love. I have the smaller size which I’ve been using as my everyday bag and couldn’t love it more.
This PRINT!
J.Crew unveiled their April collection this week and while it is all good (I shared some favorites here if that is interesting to you!), I cannot stop thinking about this happy painterly print. Isn’t it pretty? You could just do a top or go full head to toe. Love love love! Clockwise from top left: Shirtdress, Headband, Sheer Long Sleeve, Halter Dress, Pants, Skirt, Puff Sleeve Top.
A new favorite sweatshirt!
Park Barrett is a cute small business with ultra soft, personalized sweatshirts. They offered to gift me one and in a move that suprised absolutely no one, I asked if I could have one with my cats names. I chose the “cozy crop” with navy embroidery and sized up to a large for an oversized fit. It’s perfect. As we move toward warmer weather I love how light and airy it is.
An incredible setting spray.
I found the BEST setting spray.
I like it even more than the Urban decay one, a previous fav. It holds your makeup on, even in the worst humidity (think of the grossest day in Charleston where it is rainy, hot, and humid). Setting spray is definitely a product I didn’t think about much when I lived in the north but down here it is a must. Humidity aside, it’s great at making your everyday makeup (or evening glam) last longer.
What I Watched This Week:
STEVE!, This is the two part Steve Martin documentary on Apple TV. It was excellent. He is such an interesting person (and so self-deprecating). I highly recommend. Definitely the best thing I watched all week!
Palm Royale. This is getting better. Less mean girl. Still love the costumes and the sets and Kristin Wiig is giving a great performance.
Hotel Portofino. This is fun and the setting is so dreamy. Though, I had to sign up for a free trial to PBS to get it.
Did you see that A Gentleman in Moscow is on Paramount+? I tried to watch but I think I have the poor man’s version so will have to wait a little. Really there are just way too many of these streaming services.
I’m also super excited for Ripley on Netflix. Been waiting for this for a while as the film is one of my forever favorites.
Extras:
Welcome to Substack,
and ! I have signed up for their newsletter - really enjoying it so far.I loved
’s deep dive into The Idea of You and whether Harry is aware of the book. (I’m also extremely jealous that she got to see it early!).
Your substack is my fave way to begin my morning...THANK YOU for not making me pay to read it.
That photo 😘🥲 love you, friend. And love that rainbow tote!!!! How happy! Need to try that setting spray, admittedly don’t currently have one in my makeup routine. Also, I will forever love Steve Martin and his humor. May just have to try Apple TV+ only for that.
