Sometimes, I feel a little bit guilty (embarrassed, even?) about how many smocked dresses I have, and how often I reach for them. Like, can’t I make a bit more effort? A smocked dress is, indeed, a little bit lazy. It is my equivalent to sweatpants. It is comfortable and breezy, and in many cases (not the sheer Dôen dress above, lol), I can skip a bra, which is always a bonus in my book.
The weather is getting warm, and work + life have both been moving faster than usual. I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of exciting brand work, which means extra shoots. I just signed off on the creative for a mini site redesign (for the blog), and sometimes it feels like a rush to get new posts up on each platform. Add to that: working out, personal stuff, being a good aunt and daughter, and social commitments, and I’ve felt a little overwhelmed. So, smocked dresses it is. At least I’m comfy!
Along those lines, the new Hill House summer drop is a color lover’s dream. I got this, this, and this!
This one gets a little long, so click through Substack to read it. Give it a heart if you feel like being nice; it helps with the algorithm.
PS - The above outfit is what I wore to host Easter brunch with my family. :)
I had my sister and my niece over to hang out by the pool. It was a fun afternoon, just sitting in the sun and catching up.

Running around! This is my running-around uniform. This is one of my favorite Hill House styles; I like the simpler top.

Movie night (we saw Sinners, it was awesome).

A birthday dinner at The Ordinary for one of my closest girlfriends.
I went to a trunk show for Lia Burke Libaire and Aurelia Demark (two very talented people — the artist and the jewelry designer) and then to the Gibbes on the Street event.

Lunch at Melfi’s (the best) with two of my girlfriends! I love these J.Crew mesh flats.

I cannot get enough Dôen, and love this pattern. I sized down to a small in this one, I find that their smocked styles are pretty roomy.
Working from home — I love the tassels on this blouse! Take 15% off with GRACE15.
Shooting something special with Paige. This dress is a stunner!
I have been living in Varley’s sets and this is a new favorite. Out for a long walk after a busy day of shooting!

My niece had a cello and dance performance at her school. I sometimes can’t get over the education she is getting—she’s only six and is studying French and the cello? I was not learning those things in kindergarten!
My vibe was eccentric grandpa. You can use GRACE15 for a discount on my set.
This Metier bag is just the best. I love this shade of yellow. It’s the perfect mustard—some mustard yellows can look slightly muddy, but this one feels bright and fresh.
You look so pretty in all of those dresses, The square neckline is really flattering on you
Love this. I follow a few substacks but only read yours every single time!
