Beauty Empties: Every Product I Used Up Over the Past 6.5 Months
Good to the last drop. (Oh wow, it was a lot.)
Oh my — I guess it had been a minute since my last Beauty Empties post! I hadn’t realized how full my empties bag had gotten. There is a lot. In fairness, this is nearly 7 months’ worth of product, including winter (I tend to use a lot more moisturizer on my face and body) during the cooler temps. Buckle up, there is a lot to discuss!
My last post can be found here:
MaeLove Sheer Silk Face Cleanser — This was a nice cleanser, but not anything special. It’s super hydrating; great for dry skin. It was gifted to me, and while it was good enough to use until it ran out (vs. passing to a friend), I probably won’t repurchase it.
Rhode Pineapple Refresh—By contrast, this is one of my all-time favorite cleansers. It’s a hydrating balm with pineapple extracts to gently exfoliate. I’m generally pretty “whatever” about cleansers and will use whatever is in the shower (usually something I got for free), but this one, I really love and will repurchase.
Rhode Barrier Restore Cream — Just a lovely, no-frills (it doesn’t have any special actives in it) rich moisturizer for when skin is feeling super dry.
MBR Foaming Cleanser — A waste of money. When I was getting a facial (a couple of years ago—I really saved this one!), my facialist used this and I loved how it felt. It bubbles up. I ended up buying a bottle (I blame the post-facial zen glow!), and while it is nice, it is absolutely not worth this much money. Don’t spend a lot on your cleanser!
2 x Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream: You know I love this. It is included in every empties roundup! This is my absolute favorite moisturizer and my number one desert island beauty essential. I have been using it since it first launched in 2018, and there is nothing better, at least for my skin type. You can read my longer review here.
INNBeauty Extreme Cream: This is the next best thing to Augustinus Bader! (This is saying a lot, especially given the $48 price point.) I like it a lot. It leaves skin super hydrated, glowy, and firm. It’s a luxury skincare product at an excellent price. Use GRACE20 for 20% off $100 or more from INNBeauty.
MBR Modokine Serum: This is an excellent product for when skin is feeling red or irritated, but I don’t think I’d repurchase it (another “influenced” product from when I was going to Ella Ora for facials). It’s too expensive for what it is.
The Outset Firming Collagen Prep Serum: I love this. It feels so good on your skin, plumps things up, and gives you an extra layer of (lightweight) hydration. I think it’s a bit similar to the MBR Modokine (without being a million dollars).
Revive Jawline Masks: These are amazing. They make a huge difference in my jawline and puffiness around that area. Of course, the effect is temporary, but these are a must-for me on photo shoot days. The slimming + firming benefits are top-notch. They’re expensive, so I always wait until Bluemercury is having a sale.
Sidia Body Exfoliant—This is a nice body exfoliant. It gets skin super smooth. I like the texture and how it has a nice amount of slip to really lather up.
54 Thrones Barrier Repair Cream — A rich, luxurious body cream. I love the vanilla fragrance!
Homecourt Cocomoi Body Butter + Body Wash—I was slightly skeptical when Homecourt (I love their candles and surface sprays) launched body products (it felt weird to use body care products from your favorite cleaning brand). Still, they sent them over to me to try. They’re honestly great! I love the fragrance. It’s smoky, sexy, and a little bit sweet. The shower gel is nice, and the body cream is very creamy and luxurious.
Josie Maran Body Butter—This is my favorite of all the lotions featured here, and I love that the jar is refillable. It's such a smart idea. The fragrance smells good enough to eat, leaving my skin super silky and soft.
Versed AHA Body Scrub—This is a fabulous, affordable body scrub. I like that it has both manual and chemical exfoliants.
Native Eucalyptus & Mint Deodorant — A fresh scented deodorant that lasts all day.
Glossier Orange Blossom Deodorant—This is probably my favorite deodorant right now! The scent is heaven for all you fellow orange blossom lovers. I really like that it is refillable. I wish every brand would do this.
Necessaire Deodorant — This one is super effective for sweaty days.
CocoFloss Strawberry — Random to include, but I love this dental floss. It works 100x better than anything I’ve tried.
KOSAS Airbrow is one of my favorite brow products. It fills them in, tames them, holds all day, the works! My shade is taupe.
Love these posts! So helpful to know what you really find useful and worth the money. I bought the Necessaire deodorant on your recommendation and I love it. My younger son even put his nose in my armpit and I was like “It’s not going to smell good in there” but I had the Necessaire deodorant on and he said that it smelled nice. 😊 Thanks, Grace!
I am obsessed with that Augustinus Bader Rich Cream - it's so wonderful!
