Think of this as a mini-editor’s letter: what I loved most this month.
Glossier Deodorant. Fellow orange blossom addicts, this is for you. This deodorant smells insanely good . . . I wish Glossier made an EDP version! (Related: this is my favorite orange blossom perfume). It’s super effective (but aluminum-free) and refillable, which I love. Favorite-favorite status. I have two refills in my cart right now, as I panic that it will sell out or be discontinued.
G-Label Cashmere, specifically this sweater. This is super soft and almost silky; the perfect boyfriend sweater. I like to layer mine over a crewneck tee for warmth and coverage, but it’s sexy on its own, too. I pull mine up a bit and let it drape off the shoulder a little, vs. showing too much cleavage, if that makes sense. IMO, G-Label’s cashmere is up there with the best of the best: The Row, Lisa Yang, and Khaite. Take good care of it, and you will have it forever.
This top from TWP. This top was a splurge, but it is everything I want in a button-down. (TWP has been v. dangerous for me lately; we will talk about this later this week, but their clothes are all I want to wear). No photo really does it justice; you have to see it in person. The silk habotai is almost fluid. It’s ultra-lightweight and feels amazing against your skin. It has a really pretty sheen to it. Not a flashy sheen like with silk or satin, but a subtler one that makes you want to reach out and touch it).
Nostalgic Fragrances. I have been wearing DS & Durga’s I Don’t Know What quite a bit—it is one of my signature scents. I realized that it reminded me of Dolce Gabbana Light Blue (my favorite back in 2005!), which made me think of my other early aughts fave—Hanae Mori Butterfly. Maybe it’s longing for simpler times, but I’m loving this fragrance regression of sorts. Both of these scents feel deeply comforting to me in a world that feels . . . well . . . not that.
Jamie Haller Mules. These were a sleeper hit for me. I like wearing mine with a thin black trouser sock or opaque black tights for a clean, long line. They’re really comfortable and (this is a weird thing to say, maybe) make your feet look great!
My HigherDose Blanket. I’ve had this for years and years (review here!), but it’s been super cold in Charleston, and I’ve been using it weekly. It’s a nice way to get a good sweat while being lazy. I lay mine out over my bed (with a full bottle of water and plenty of towels) and just sweat for an hour while I watch a show. Afterward, I have glowing skin and more energy. I just feel great!
Habits App for iPhone. I polled my Instagram audience for a habit-tracking app a couple of weeks ago. I tested the most recommended ones, and this was my favorite. It’s just a simple way to track all of the things I’m trying to do more of (magnesium drink, daily walks, using my LED mask, skipping alcohol, etc.!). I like having a visual record of it, even just to see that I exercised more days than I didn’t, drank alcohol fewer days than I did . . . etc!
The remaining six are behind the paywall, including the book I’ve been telling everyone to read!
