The Saturday Group Text, #37
The perfect summer necklace, lymphatic drainage leggings, truly excellent cut-offs, + more!
Hi from sunny LA! I hope your weekend is off to a great start.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It’s a great list. An interesting article about the “glow down” (vs. glow up). Books to read if you are in a creative rut. How to give and accept criticism. Where to travel in August. A super cool DIY project and a smart kitchen renovation. Plus loads more. I hope you enjoy it!
Also! I was so psyched to get to chat with Emma Childs at Marie Claire about all things shell jewelry. You can read the feature here.
Maybe I’ve just been wearing non-stretch cut-offs but oh my: this pair from Pistola fits like a glove. Truly, they are PERFECT. There is a bit of stretch so they are comfortable and make your butt look great… but if I were just looking at them, I’d 100% think they were non-stretch. They are truly perfect and I can’t believe I am saying this but I might prefer these to my AGOLDEs! Shhh!!!! I took my normal denim (jeans) size. I often size up for shorts but did not with these.
PS - they get better and better with every wash and now have a nice fray going after a few trips through the washer and dryer.
EDIT: Also available at Nordstrom! And Revolve!
I love the look of this simple baroque pearl on a colored leather cord. It will layer easily with chains, other beaded necklaces, etc. but will also look beautiful on its own. I see it looking really pretty with my longer Sherman-Field chain, or on its own at the beach. It’s the sort of necklace you won’t want to take off and can leave on all summer.
Bonus points for the longer length (the cord is 24”). I am a stickler about these things. I have a big neck and appreciate being able to adjust the necklace to exactly where I want it (IMO the pearl should rest just above or at the hollow of your throat). I ordered the palm green (naturally) but there are several other color options.
Rediscovering Chan Luu
If you can’t tell from the other picks in today’s letter, my vibe for summer (especially when it comes to jewelry) is very very beachy. I have been super into shells, baroque pearls, and beaded necklaces. Chan Luu was always a favorite for these types of things (fun fact: my first ever blog post back in 2010 was about a Chan Luu wrap bracelet I’d bought), but I kind of forgot about them! I purchased these baroque pearl earrings a few years ago and pulled them out of my jewelry box last week. I forgot how much I love them! I also (finally) ordered this turquoise necklace after debating it for far too long. Such great summer jewelry staples.
More picks! Delicate pearl necklace, baroque pearl on turquoise strand, turquoise flower drops, turquoise necklace, baroque pearl drops, beaded necklace, beaded bracelet.
I bought a pair of these lymphatic drainage leggings a few months ago. I was influenced by
here… she had been touting the benefits for months and I finally gave in. They are more than I’d like to spend on leggings but they really do work. I wear them to work out in and also on the plane. When I wear them on the airplane, they are immensely helpful with bloating/the stomach stuff I get whenever I fly. And for everyday wear, I swear my cellulite has majorly improved. They also help with stiffness and soreness, especially for long travel days. I love them so much that I bought a second pair.I find that they run true to size. You do have to kind of wriggle into them but once they’re on, they are super comfy! Also: the micro-pearls will leave behind a funny dot pattern that goes away after a couple hours - just be forewarned!
What I Watched This Week:
I watched zero TV — it was a busy one! I will be making up for lost time with my couch when I get back.
Extras:
I loved
’s feature on the AWAY x La Ligne collab. It’s a beautiful collaboration!A few of my friends teamed up to launch Sipland, a beautiful site dedicated no- and low-ABV drinks and alternative beverages.
BaubleBar is running a big sale on their phone cases (I have and love several!). Just $50 instead of the usual $72. These make such a great gift and I love all of the personalization options.
I am a bit obsessed with these cheeky cocktail napkins.
Hi! Cutoffs sound heavenly; when I click the cutoff links it brings to be the leggings? Not sure if this is a link issue/ issue on my side but wanted to mention in case it's not just me. Would rather use your affiliate link!
Finally someone with a review about those leggings!!!! I’ve been targeted by them for months and now I’m ready to check out.
