The Best MDW Sales.
The entire Internet is on sale - here's what's worth buying! But also: book recs, Amazon favs, easy Spring outfit ideas.
Hi, hi! How was your week!? I am back from vacation and very ready for a very fun week ahead: a yacht rock concert tonight and then all of the Spoleto things starting tomorrow. And! The pool is swimmable (sittable?) as of this afternoon so that is very exciting.
I thought I’d use today’s letter to share the best Memorial Day sales. There are a LOT! I tried to keep this list really edited but it was hard. All of my favorite retailers are bringing their best sale game. And don’t get me started on the designer sales!
MyTheresa is having a very very good sale. It is worth really spending some time here and really digging in, filtering down to your sizes because there is a LOT included but oftentimes just one piece in one size… etc! Two of my favorite splurges are included: this ultra fun sequin jacket 40% off) and this Johanna Ortiz dress (30% off). I love and highly recommend both. I had been coveting this happy patterned dress but it’s not available in my size. If it’s in your size, get it!!!! Also: this Farm Rio cutie!
J.Crew is doing 40% off sitewide + 60% off sale styles. So many favorites are included. I have and love this linen shift dress (of course I got the green), same goes with this button front dress (I went with red here), and this stripey set (top + shorts). Meanwhile I have been ogling this embroidered caftan and this striped voile dress.
Shopbop is doing their designer sale and so many favs are included. This Jenni Kayne cardigan is so elegant (I have it in cream and black) and can double as a jacket. I’ve been eyeing this Ulla Johnson tote a while (isn’t it fab!?), these Aquazzura rattan loafers are so cool, and I really love this (beautiful!) skirt from Sea. Also: fun shells!
Saks is also doing a designer sale! One of my favorite fancy blouses is included. I love this Zimmermann dress. My beloved So Nude sandals in a fun natural raffia. A very fun party dress (love this shade of green). A great floral mini. Classic gold huggie earrings. Embellished sandals!
Madewell is running 25% off summer essentials. This dress is surprisingly sexy thanks to a little cut-out. I actually recommend sizing up. And this smocked dress is an absolute gem + reader favorite!
Business & Pleasure: The most fun umbrellas and outdoor furniture. I don’t want to ruin the surprise but I have some things on their way to me for my own patio! Take 20% off with code MD20.
Kule is a favorite fur happy striped basics and they are doing 20% off when you buy two of any of these items! The Modern is one of my all time favs, and I’ve been eyeing this rugby!
Material Kitchen makes some of my most favorite kitchen stuff. Right now, mostly everything on their site is 20% off! The best knives (+ magnetic stand), one of my most favorite pitchers, the greatest cutting boards, I am a little obsessed with this brand.
Tanya Taylor is running an extra 20% off sale styles.
Cara Cara is doing up to 40% off with their summer sale!
Anthropologie is running an EXTRA 40% off sale styles! There is some really good stuff included like their iconic Somerset shirt dress.
On The Stripe (my blog!) this week.
It was a fun week of content. We started the week with this month’s Amazon favorites. SO many good things. Cute tops, things for home, a life changing cleaning product, + more.
After that: a springtime candle refresh. Tis the season to swap up out home fragrances!
A fun post about how Carly and I prioritize when it comes to splurging on designer items. Lastly, in partnership with Evereve! Two really great EASY spring/summer outfits.
This Week in Reading:
I finished Wives Like Us by Plum Sykes over vacation. The writing took me a little bit to get used to (it’s very descriptive and frequently changes perspective from character to character but it is fun). It’s a little satirical and super funny at times (the characters constantly misread situations/each other). It is basically very funny rich people gossip. A great vacation read, though I wish more happened plot-wise. I gave it a B+.
After that, I read another light read - Hate Follow, by Erin Quinn-Kong. You know I’ll read anything about influencers. This one is about a mommy blogger whose teenage daughter she decides she wants nothing to do with her mother’s social media and doesn’t want to be on the page anymore. A lawsuit ensues. This was a light and easy beach read. She could have gone darker/more serious with it (which I probably would have preferred) but I mostly enjoyed it; reading it very quickly on my flight home. I gave it a B.
I felt the same about Wives Like Us.
I just finished Plum's book too, it's great! I am going to a talk she's at in June and excited to hear whats next for her. x
