Just popping in with some recent outfits. I hope you had a great weekend and are able to ease into your Monday. This weekend was so nice. I am doing the Kroma reset so I just opted to mostly hibernate. I got my whole pantry clean, did a ton of laundry, got ahead on work… just hunkered down! It is nice to go into the week feeling well-rested and ahead of things.
PS - Today on the blog there is a big roundup of raffia and rattan things. My favorite!
Working from home and wearing a Free People vest top + J.Crew pull on linen shorts (a summer mainstay for me; mine are a couple years old but they make ‘em every year).
To a happy hour for Spoleto Bridge, wearing a Sezane dress, Grainne Morton earrings, and theee best Steve Madden raffia dad sandals.
To a friend’s 40th birthday. Wearing a Thierry Colson dress (old) and my new Valextra bag (bought in Dallas).
To dinner with friends. Wearing another Thierry Colson dress (this cut is everything, I own 3 colors), the Steve Madden dad sandals, and a Jenni Kayne cotton fisherman sweater over my shoulders.
Let’s talk about this whole sweater over shoulders thing! There was a discussion thread in my Facebook group and someone was like, “well nobody actually walks around like that, it’s just for the photo.” I was like, lol no, I walk around like this all day every day”
I think the key is to think of the sweater as a shawl and to not try to tie it. The sweater is a shawl; we are not trying to contort it or do anything fancy. I am convinced that you must have a sweater with exceptionally long arms and/or a very small frame to pull off tying it in a cute way. I am solidly medium-sized, that does not work for me The drape is easy. I just pull it over my shoulders, adjust it a little, and let the arms fall. I promise you it’s easy! I think it makes a look feel a little more finished and put together, and I like the extra layer of warmth, especially at night.
Working from home, wearing some favs from Evereve (I worked with them, blog post coming tomorrow, but I LOVE this tee, these jeans, and these birks).
Working from home, wearing this J.Crew white dress (from last year but they brought it back!) and my Chanel dad sandals (A RealReal find from last year).
Dinner for my friend’s dad’s 80th birthday. An old La Ligne dress (I love the face print!) and Gianvitto Rossi sandals.
{La Ligne makes some of my most favorite, special dresses. Use GRACE10 for 10% off your first purchase}
Working from home. I love this Madewell tee. Size up for a cozy fit. AGOLDE shorts, natch! This is the Stella fit, I decided to try something new. I think they are good but the high rise is a little high. I prefer my original Parker!
That’s it! Hope your Monday isn’t too bad. xx :)
Love, love, love your 'what I wore' posts....thank you
I’m also team ‘sweater over the shoulders’! Besides it being cute style wise, if you have to take your sweater off or you’re bringing one along just I case, tying it around your waist stretches out the sleeves. It’s really in the best interest of you and your sweater to embrace the shoulder drape!
