Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I had a really nice one. The tail end of
’s visit and a derby party. I as a bit under the weather yesterday so I opted to stay home and rot (and watch The Idea of You a second time. Had to!Here are some outfits from over the past couple weeks. The weather is heating up down here in Charleston which means my wardrobe is mostly dresses. It’s too hot for hard pants or heavy fabrics. Though I do love these Sezane jeans!
PS - pop on over to the blog… we have the happiest round-up of green things today. Green is a neutral!
{a luncheon at our art museum with De Gournay’s creative director}
This kaftan is honestly everything. I paired it with the Valextra bag I bought in Dallas and my silver Aquazzura block heels, which just got marked down.
{Working from home + Spoleto board meeting}
Sold Out Tee (just back in stock! use GRACE15 if you’re new to the brand), Sezane Jeans (take your bigger size), Emme Parsons Flats
{Dinner at my parents’ house.}
Anthropologie dress (my colorway is a little older and sold out but truly: buy this dress in every pattern, it is amazing and looks good on everyone!), plastic birks
{Lunch with girlfriends}
Hill House dress, Steve Madden Sandals, Irene Neuwirth Earrings.
I kinda fell away from Hill House. I think Nell is amazing and have nothing but happy feelings toward the brand but I went way too hard on the Ellie and for a time I could not look at dresses that silhouette! This dress has me back on the Hill House bandwagon. It’s a bit like if Reformation and Doen had a baby. I am wearing my usual size (M!) and I love the fit. It has elastic in back that gives you a perfect fit. It has pockets. I have a green printed one too!
{Dinner at my parents’ house}
Cleobella Top + Shorts, Emme Parsons sandals
This Cleobella set went so quickly. I purchased it from Nordstrom and of course it sold out. The top is still available in some sizes here and here, and the shorts are available here and here. I’m wearing the medium in both!
{Running around + working from home}
Mille dress (use GRACE15, wearing size medium), Chanel Dad Sandals (3 years old), Palmgrens Bag (6 years old)
My Palmgrens bag is an old favorite. I bought it in 2018 and the leather is so worn out but it’s held up great otherwise.
I talked about a new to me brand in April’s Shopping Notes. I ordered a bunch of stuff and was super impressed with the quality. This dress is gorgeous. Of course it is already sold out on Shopbop’s website, but it’s available on the brand’s site here. Really good quality for the price point. I am wearing the UK 10 which is a 6, my smaller size. I would say it’s true to size but strangely slightly tight in the arms.
I took this selfie so that you can see the details.
{Mahjong with friends}
This Madewell dress is such a winner. I am so sad because it’s nearly sold out. It’s still available in some sizes here, here, and here. I wear the medium.
I always say “buy the dress, even if you don’t have an occasion!” as great event dresses can be so hard to find when you actually are in the market. And so: I bought this Doen lace dress months ago with no occasion to wear it - I just knew I really loved it and would wear it at some point. I wore it to a Derby party this weekend. I paired it with my Aquazzura block heels and this super fun La Double J bag. Earrings are Irene Neuwirth. These would be a fun “look for less.”
(I know people will ask about what to wear under a sheer dress like this. I just did a strapless bra (this one is my absolute fav) and a half slip. Easy peasy).
That’s all for now - hope your week is off to a great start!
I totally agree that green is a neutral! I love the Jennifer x Julie earrings you suggested. I Hope to buy.
The Yellow dress is ethereal!
